Music Companies Are Greedy!

greedyMusicCompanies

At the recent Apple Expo in Paris, Apple CEO said that "'Greedy' record companies are pushing for an increase in the price of music downloads." Although they make a bigger profit than selling CDs (so '90s), record companies would like to see one-hit wonder songs on the iTunes record store priced much, much higher. So what does that mean people? Is Okama going to pay $2.00 (US) for Rick Springfield while paying 49ยข (US) for Rick Astley?

Comments:
I would pay $2.00 for Rick Astley.

Great iTunes logo...it makes me naiteiru because it is so witty. Mou namida iranai...

I think there should be an open music store system that's easy enough for artists to independently upload their stuff. Then, if they want and choose to be promoted then they can contract out to "agencies" to promote them. The artist should have more control over the whole process and not the labels. More of the real artists should simply do more concerts...that's where the real money is and those are much easier to promote.

If you buy one of Okama's Okama PC 3000 described in another stoopid brog entry, that configuration comes bundled with oTunes, which is an open-source music store which sells songs for whatever the artists want to demand. No middlemen!
